THE budget for both the Ba’Kelalan Health Clinic and Long Semadoh Health Clinic this year has been approved amounting to RM450,000 and RM300,000 respectively for upgrading works under the ‘Projek Klinik Daif’ scheme.

Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang said the Ministry of Health Malaysia has been consistently implementing programmes to upgrade healthcare facilities, including rural clinics, nationwide.

“A total of RM32,393.47 has been approved in 2023 for the upgrading works of septic tank and sewerage systems for Ba’Kelalan Health Clinic,” he said  in response to a question from Baru Bian (GPS-Ba’Kelalan) today.

Tiang said the actual cost of all these repairs in the rural areas are subjected to logistics and locality conditions.

“Only one third of the funding allocated will be able to be utilised to upgrade the facilities.

“Once the proposed initiative as mentioned by me in the previous question and answer session is implemented, it will be able to address the gaps among the urban, suburban and rural healthcare facilities where the Ba’Kelalan Health Clinic and Long Semadoh Health Clinic will be able to be further upgraded and equipped with better equipment,” he said.
