A book titled “Punan Myths and Legends” by Calvin Jemarang was presented as a souvenir to Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah during the Kembara Kenali Borneo tour at Kampung Penan Muslim Batu 10 here.

Calvin explained that the souvenir was intended to introduce and provide a better understanding of the Punan ethnicity to Their Majesties.

“The book was published earlier in the year during the Gawai Dayak Festival, with the aim of shedding light on the history and relationships of the Punan community with other communities,” he said.

The convoy, including Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah, was warmly welcomed by thousands of locals along the road leading to the village’s Darul Falah Mosque at around 5.59pm on yesterday (Sept 10).

Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development, Datuk Majang Renggi, who is also the Samalaju assemblyman, welcomed the convoy.
