KUCHING: Boney M is set to rock the stage here tomorrow (Dec 4). The band, led by original founding member Maizie Williams, arrived at Kuching International Airport (KIA) at around 9.30 pm yesterday (Dec 2).
Receiving the band at the airport were Zaid Zaini, organising chairman of the Boney M 50th Anniversary Tour and executive director of Front Row Entertainment Sdn Bhd (Front Row), the organiser of the live concert; Front Row managing director Ameerah Alsree; and members of the organising committee.
The band will be performing at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) tomorrow at 8 pm.
Leading the list of distinguished guests attending the live concert are Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and his wife, Datin Sri Zuraini Abdul Jabbar, along with various dignitaries from public organisations and private corporate bodies.
This is the first global stop of the Boney M 50th Anniversary Tour. After performing in Kuching, the band will continue their golden anniversary tour in Jakarta on Jan 10, Kuala Lumpur (Jan 12), and Singapore (Jan 15).
Meanwhile, all seated tickets for the live concert in Kuching had been sold out as of yesterday (Jan 2).
