Bomba rescues four hikers lost in the wild

BINTULU: Four local hikers, lost in the dense jungle of Bukit Chung Hua here, were rescued by firefighters last night (Sept 28).

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that they were alerted of the incident at 7.24pm.

Firefighters from Bintulu station were dispatched to the scene, about 15km away, to initiate the search and rescue (SAR) operation.

The hikers speaking to their heroes who rescued them out of Bukit Chung Hua last night.

By 8.10pm, the team successfully located all four hikers, including two women, roughly 1km from Taman Kidurong Height.

The group, aged between 21 and 33, was unharmed and safely escorted out of the jungle.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the team wrapped up the operation at 8.16pm.
