Body of missing elderly man found

KUCHING: The body of an elderly man who was reported missing last Friday, was found in Sungai Pangeran, Tabuan Jaya today.

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah disclosed that the body had been identified by the victim’s family as the missing person that went viral on social media.

“The police will help expedite matters related to the body. It has been taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further action.

“The community is reminded not to make any assumptions and to respect the family of the deceased,” he said.

He noted that case is being investigated as sudden death.

Earlier, firemen from Tabuan Jaya station received a call around 12.15pm pertaining to the discovery of a body in the river.

The team managed to retrieve the body at 1.15pm and handed it over to the police for further action.
