BINTULU: The Civil Defence Force (APM) here helped to capture a 1m-long cobra that was hiding inside a used tyre in Jalan Tun Hussein Onn on today (April 6).
Bintulu APM officer Capt (APM) Mohd Johari Mohd Taufik said they received a distress call from a female resident around 11.40am pertaining to the sighting of a snake in the front yard of her house.
A six-member team led by Sgt (APM) Evelyn Nora Jenau was deployed to the scene to catch the poisonous reptile.
It did not take long for the professionals to secure the area and capture the cobra using special equipment.
Once captured, the snake was put in a container and taken to the Bintulu APM office.
It was then released into its original habitat away from residential areas.
