Bintangor trust board urged to support students in higher education

BINTANGOR: Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol has called on the Bintangor Malay Trust Board to establish a special bureau to provide assistance to students entering higher education institutions.

The Semop assemblyman also called on the Youth Movement of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) in the area to remain attentive to the challenges faced by local youths and prioritise their welfare to ensure they do not fall behind in their education.

He made these remarks during a meeting with Bintangor Malay village chiefs at the Semop Special Grant Handover Ceremony held at Dewan Dayang Bai here today (Nov 27).

During the event, Abdullah announced a special grant of RM3,000 for the Rukun Tetangga (KRT) of Kampung Melayu Bintangor to organise a New Year celebration gathering.

Additionally, he committed RM5,000 in grants for community and village heads to hold a leadership event for the KMKK (Community Leaders and Village Chiefs) of Meradong District in collaboration with local residents.

A total of RM155,000 in special grants was distributed to three recipients within the Semop constituency during the ceremony.

Among the allocations, RM70,000 was granted to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Muhibbah for road upgrades, and RM13,000 was provided to JKKK Zone 1 for jetty repairs.

The Kampung Melayu Bintangor Community Centre also received RM42,500 to construct a perimeter fence, RM25,600 to pave the centre’s compound, and RM3,900 for the construction of concrete stairs.
