Bikers get 58 summonses during Ops Bersepadu

BINTULU: Using motorcycles without licences and/or with number plates not conforming to regulations were found to have topped the lists of offences when police carried out their Ops Bersepadu last Sunday night.

This piece of information has just been released by the police whose operations were carried out at Pantai ABF, Jalan Hospital Columbia and Jalan Paragon.

Local police chief, Supt Zulkilpli Suhaili, said in the operation which focused on motorcyclists and headed led by Inspector Jeffery Jembol, they issued 24 summonses for the above offence.

Ten other summonses were for having no wing mirrors; illegal modifications of exhaust systems — 10 summonses; illegally modified motorcycle structures (six summonses); no insurance coverage (six), and expired road tax (two), for a total number of 58.

Other than the summonses, five motorcycles were seized.

“A total of 44 motorcycles were stopped and inspected at the three locations,” Supt Zulkipli said.
