LUBOK ANTU: The Malaysian Armed Forces foiled a human trafficking bid by three locals involving a family of four immigrants near Gabma Post Sector this morning.
The First Infantry Division in a statement, said an ambush team spotted a suspicious pickup truck that was heading towards the Sanitary Landfill Site area, around 4.17am, about 3.8km from the Malaysia-Indonesia border.
Inspections found that the individuals were unloading goods from the vehicle, however, nothing illegal was found.
Three local men aged 25, 31 and 45, are said to be helping the family of four aged three, five, 29 and 55, to return back to Indonesia via an illegal route.
All of them along with the seized vehicle and five phones, were handed over to Lubok Antu police for further action.
The army remains vigilant and committed to maintaining security and ensuring that the country’s sovereignty is preserved, especially in ensuring that there are no intrusion of illegal immigrants or any form of cross-border crime.
