PARIS (France): The Belgian Grand Prix has secured a deal to remain on the Formula 1 calendar for four out of six years between 2026 and 2031 in a ‘rotational’ arrangement to accommodate new races.

The Spa-Francorchamps circuit, a historic venue, will host races in 2026, 2027, 2029, and 2031, after expanding capacity with two new grandstands. Belgium will be replaced by other races in 2028 and 2030, although the venues are yet to be confirmed.

The Dutch Grand Prix’s contract expires in 2026, with potential for an extension, while France and Germany are not featured on the 2025 calendar but are seeking to return. The Turkish Grand Prix, last held in 2021, could return in the vacant slots. Additionally, Rwanda plans a new circuit near Kigali, with an F1 race possible by 2028, and Thailand has expressed interest in hosting a future race. – AFP
