KAPIT: Kapit Resident Joseph Belayong Punan yesterday paid a visit to have a closer look at the landslide that has cut off the access road link to Sut and Antaroh.
The visit was also to inspect the work progress undertaken by the relevant agency (Cahaya Mata Sarawak-CMS) to construct the temporary diversion road access to provide access to the community along Sut and Antaroh areas to go to Kapit town and vice versa.
Accompanying Belayong for the site inspection was Administrative Officer Abdul Malek.
At the site Belayong called on the agency concerned to speed up the construction of the diversion work including working round the clock to complete it to enable the people from Sut and Antaroh to use the road as soon as possible.
At the time of his inspection the diversion work had stopped temporarily as the excavator that was used to carry out the excavating work ran out of fuel.
At the moment CMS has installed signage to inform the road users and members of the public about the road closure.
Earlier during the landslide incident, a van was almost washed away by the landslide with its front left wheel slipping at the end of the collapsed road.
