BELAGA: The diverse ethnic communities in Belaga continue to set an exemplary model of unity and harmony.
Utility and Telecommunication Deputy Minister Datuk Liwan Lagang expressed his pride in the strong bond of unity among the people of Belaga.
He said the close ties, between different races and religions in the district, reflects the best example of harmony in Sarawak.
“I am extremely proud that Belaga’s unity can serve as an example.
“There are no differences between races and religions – we live in harmony and mutual respect.

“I believe we all understand the importance of preserving this unity,” he said during a breaking of fast event at Rest House Belaga on Friday.
Liwan, who is also the Belaga assemblyman, reminded the public to be cautious with social media and avoid sharing content that could disrupt existing unity and harmony.
“We must remain vigilant against social media content that could harm our good relations.
“It is best to steer clear of such matters so we can continue upholding the culture of unity that has long been cherished in Belaga,” he said.
