BELADIN: A land area of about 1,000  acres in size is being developed for the purpose of a pineapple plantation by the management through cooperative (Cooperative Qariah Al-Amin Mosque Beladin) to ensure Beladin Pineapple Plantation Project is more durable and could provide good returns to its operators.

In a meeting of the Beting Maro State Assemblyman, Razaili Gapor with Integrated Agriculture Development Area (IADA) Kalaka-Saribas-Betong, he said management by individuals on a personal basis would not last long.

“For Beladin pineapple plantation project implementation plan later we will change that and will do it commercially by a body that is the cooperative.

“The point is individual management or small farm as previously done cannot survive long,” he said here yesterday.

He explained that the management dimension by cooperative is viewed more efficient and organised, or in other words the pineapple plantation can later be commercialised with mass production.

For the first phase, it had been agreed that an area of 10 hectares will be developed and the number will be increased in stages from time to time.
