MIRI: The Bekenu Waterfront Project (Kampung Rambai) not only serves as a foundation for the progress of local residents but also enhances connectivity and stimulates tourism activities in the area.
Bekenu assemblywoman Datuk Rosey Yunus said that this project is more than just physical development, but also an investment in wellbeing, prosperity and a shared future.
“This project will provide a waterfront with related facilities along the banks of Sungai Kampung Rambai, opposite the Bekenu market, creating a beautiful recreational space for everyone.
“Imagine our families strolling by the river, children playing in a beautiful park, and all of us enjoying a serene view.
“This will be a place where we can relax, engage in recreational activities, and strengthen our bonds.
“The public will also be able to comfortably and safely watch regatta activities,” she said in her speech during the project’s groundbreaking ceremony today.
She added that the project would open up more business opportunities for the residents of Kampung Rambai.
“Shops, restaurants and tourism activities will flourish, creating new job opportunities for our youth.
“Villagers can also take advantage of this by selling local products.
“The Bekenu Waterfront will beautify the banks of Sungai Kampung Rambai, making it a landmark in Sibuti to boost tourism while also protecting the riverbanks from erosion.
“This project will also lead to infrastructure improvements such as roads, street lighting and other public facilities, benefiting everyone in their daily lives,” she added.
She further emphasised that the success of the project depends on the support and cooperation of all parties involved.
“We are committed to ensuring that this project is implemented carefully and transparently.
“We will involve the villagers at every stage of development.
“Let us come together to support this project for a brighter future for Kampung Rambai Bekenu,” she said.
