SARATOK: Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri has advised members of the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) to be more aware of issues at the grassroots level.

“Don’t wait for residents’ complaints to act. It’s best for JKKK members to be proactive. You are closest to the community.

“It means that whatever happens, you see and hear.
“Take the initiative to better investigate issues so that they can be resolved immediately,” he said when asked after meeting community leaders and friends at Kampung Bunga Raya on Saturday night.

Mohamad said he really hoped that every problem faced by the residents would be brought to the attention of the JKKK and dealt with promptly.

“If it needs the attention of a higher party, forward it to me,” he said.

Mohamad said he often held casual meetings with residents in his area to strengthen brotherhood and friendship.

“I can listen to the problems myself and find solutions prudently for whatever is presented.

“Like today in Kampung Bunga Raya, I had the opportunity to discuss the implementation of upgrading the drainage system,” he added.

He said Kampung Bunga Raya also received projects under the 2024 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

He emphasised that he also supported the activities of the residents, especially among youth, to learn ‘zikr’ (practice of repeatedly reciting prayers) together,

Deputy head of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kalaka Branch Councillor Kasdi Pandi and head of PBB Party Youth Movement Kalaka Branch Harjam Jemain were also present.
