KUCHING: The development project for the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) 2 is scheduled to begin on April 30 this year.
The project is expected to be fully completed by March 31, 2028.
Public Works Department (JKR) Director, Dr Cassidy Morris, conducted a visit to the proposed construction site of BCCK 2 today.
It was also attended by the Deputy Director of Technical Services, senior JKR Sarawak officers, and representatives of the implementing contractor.
BCCK 2 is a strategic initiative by the Sarawak government to strengthen Kuching’s role as a major hub for conventions and international events in the region.
BCCK 2 will be able to accommodate up to 9,500 people, thus making a significant impact on the local tourism and economy sectors.
With the implementation of this project, the Sarawak government is clearly demonstrating its commitment to developing sustainable and competitive world-class infrastructure, in line with Sarawak’s post-2030 development direction.
