BINTULU: The Bintulu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is encouraged to continue to strengthen its role as a catalyst for the local business community in facing the challenges and changes in the current economic landscape.
Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming praised the continuous efforts of the BCCI, which actively organises various development programmes, including fraud awareness talks, ESG disclosure guides, anti-corruption partnerships, and talks related to electronic invoices (e-Invoice).
He said the initiative proved BCCI’s concern for its members and commitment to support business development among the Chinese business community.
He also emphasised that the implementation of the e-Invoice system, which will be mandatory for all micro and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) starting July 1, requires careful preparation by every business.
“I hope the BCCI can continue to play an important role in helping members understand and prepare for these changes.
Through the organisation of training, information sessions, and practical guidance, this chamber can ensure that its members can make a smooth transition,” he said while speaking at the BCCI Chinese New Year dinner last night.
According to Pang, in addition to focusing on compliance with government policies, BCCI also needs to strengthen the network of collaboration between its members to stimulate innovation, increase competitiveness, and open new opportunities for the local business community.
He also expressed his confidence in the new leadership line of BCCI led by Kong Chiong Ung to continue to lead the chamber to achieve more success.
“With the experience and the spirit of leadership, I believe BCCI is capable of being the main driving force in developing a more progressive and inclusive Bintulu economy,” he said.
The dinner was also attended by business leaders, community members and media representatives.
