KUCHING: After around eight months of extensive work, Bau Stadium has undergone a remarkable transformation, emerging as a far more beautiful and modern venue.
Notably, the football pitch, running track, drainage system, grandstand, and the entire roof of the stadium building have all been replaced.
In a Facebook post on Saturday by the ‘Henry Jinep’s Admin Page – N2 Tasik Biru’, it was revealed that the indoor stadium has also been substantially revamped, with the installation of air conditioning, new ceiling panels, and fans to ensure a more comfortable environment.
Additionally, the post added that all the outdated lighting had been replaced with modern fixtures.
The post highlighted that these upgrades were made possible through the funding secured by Tasik Biru assemblyman, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep from the state government and Sarawak Sports Corporation. The renovation work was carried out through an open tender process, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
Henry also mentioned that floodlights would soon be installed, enabling sports events—such as football matches—to be held in the evening, further enhancing the stadium’s versatility.
