KUCHING: The official opening ceremony of the Batang Rajang Bridge is scheduled to take place on May 17, marking a significant milestone for the central region in Sarawak
The bridge is set to become a catalyst for enhanced transportation connectivity and socioeconomic development in the state.
The matter was discussed during a coordination meeting held here today to ensure the smooth execution of the official launch of the Batang Rajang Bridge and Pasi Road, both of which are poised to become new landmarks in Sarikei.
The meeting aimed to coordinate all necessary preparations, including logistics, safety, protocol and the official programme itinerary, and ensure a seamless ceremony.
The involvement of the local community and the roles of relevant agencies were also discussed to ensure active participation and strong support for the event.
The meeting was chaired by Infrastructure and Port Development (Infrastructure Development) Deputy Minister, Datuk Aidel Lariwoo here.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate the event.
Present at the meeting were Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Deputy Minister cum Kuala Rajang assemblyman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, and other distinguished guests.
