Bank Rakyat Foundation PPBU opens today until July 15

KUALA LUMPUR:  The Bank Rakyat Foundation (YBR) is launching a Changeable Education Fund (Pembiayaan Pendidikan Boleh Ubah) (PPBU) application for the first tier of 2020 from today until July 15.

YBR, in a statement today, said the PPBU which involved an allocation of RM1.16 million was being offered to students pursuing skills certificates, skills diplomas and academic diplomas at public and private universities in the country.

The education funding is also offered to all Malaysians involving students, aged 18 to 30 years, for SPM holders and those in the first semester.

“Students must have at least 5A in the Malaysian Certificate of Education 2019 or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.00 for Malaysian Higher Education Certificate, Malaysian Higher Religious Education Certificate, or still in diploma studies to qualify for this educational grant.

“This funding offer is made to meet YBR’s goal of generating more high-skilled manpower to meet the demands of today’s market, “it said.

YBR general manager Norashikin Shaharudin said the initiative was part of YBR’s commitment in supporting the National Education Philosophy to comprehensively develop the full potential of individuals and produce intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced people.

She said, since its inception in 2007, the YBR has provided an allocation of RM130 million in education funding to ensure that children who are national assets are able to realise their true potentials.

“To date, the YBR education financing products has benefited 5,120 students from all socio-economic backgrounds and 2,991 graduates have graduated at the higher education levels as well as demonstrating YBR’s commitment to maintaining a long-term impact on the education sector,” she said.
