KUCHING: Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad remains dedicated to expanding its i-Tekad programme in Sarawak, aiming to provide support and benefits to local small traders, said its group chief executive officer, Datuk Mohd Muazzam Mohamed.

He said that Bank Islam had previously signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIC) which allowed the expansion of the i-Tekad programme in Sarawak by increasing the number of participants and broadening the business sectors involved.

“The programme also includes training and business coaching services to help participants, particularly those from low-income groups like asnaf and B40, improve their income through entrepreneurship and business ventures.

“We aim to enhance their potential to generate better income and improve the financial position of the participants in the i-Tekad Micro programme.
