MIRI: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) held a two-day referee accreditation course here over the weekend.

The course was led by Datuk Anthony Linggian, whose extensive experience in the badminton world provided invaluable insights to participants.

At the closing of the course on Sunday, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting hoped this initiative will raise the level of refereeing in Sarawak.

“This course marked a new beginning for all participants, providing a crucial stepping stone for aspiring referees. We aim to groom young talent in badminton, and perhaps, the next champion might emerge from Sarawak,” he stated.

The course attracted 28 participants from Brunei, Kuching, Sibu, Bekenu, Baram, Lawas, and Limbang
