Baby, three others injured in car accident

SRI AMAN: A six-month-old baby suffered a head injury while three others were also hurt in a self-accident at Kampung Punggu Dadak, Jalan Sri Aman-Serian early this morning (Apr 26).

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department’s operations centre said the incident involved a Perodua Viva carrying seven people – two adults, one young adult, three children, and one baby.

“We received a call on the incident at 7.45 am, and a team from the Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Station was immediately dispatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, firefighters found two adults, one young adult, and the baby injured, while three other children aged between 3 and 10 escaped unhurt,” it said in a statement today.

It further said the driver, an adult, sustained injuries to the neck and right hand.

“The others – one adult and a young adult – sustained arm injuries, while the infant suffered a head injury,” it said.

It added firefighters administered first aid to one injured female using an emergency kit, while medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH) treated the other three injured individuals.

All four injured individuals were later transported to Sri Aman Hospital II for further treatment.
