KUCHING: The Semenggoh Wildlife Centre has announced that the orang utan stork has landed and delivered its latest edition, a baby orangutan or ape at its centre.

“Another successful orangutan conservation efforts by the Sarawak state government and Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC),” its official said in a press statement here on Sunday (Jan 23).

The official disclosed that the 26-year-old orangutan, Analisa, gave birth to the fourth baby of her family.

“She came to the centre with the newborn baby this afternoon (Jan 23) around 3.06pm.  Her last attendance before this was on Jan 21, 2022. As the umbilical cord is still attached to the newborn, the baby might be born either on Jan 22, 2022 or early today Jan 23, 2022,” the official added.

“As mentioned by our controller of Wildlife on Sunday (Jan 23), currently we are waiting for another two more deliveries from Selina and Saddamiah.

“You can show your love for orangutans with a symbolic adoption,” the official added.
