SIMANGGANG: Committee members of associations are reminded to strictly follow their organisation’s established rules.
Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said that it’s crucial for these members to maintain an up-to-date community profile.
“Committee members should meet at least six times a year and send meeting reports to the District office. They should also give copies to the elected representatives Service Centre.
“Members have to share details of the Minor Rural Project (MRP) and Rural Transformation Project (RTP) grants given by the government to ensure people know where their funding comes from,” Harden said at the 17th Anniversary of the Iban Community Leaders Association of Sri Aman District recently.
During the event, the Simanggang assemblyman presented a mock check of RM20,000 to the association, while Sri Aman MP Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodie contributed RM10,000.
Meanwhile, organising chairperson Mathew Uning shared that the event’s main aim was to raise money for upcoming association activities including ongoing courses for the Pemanca, Penghulu, and Tuai Rumah (longhouse chiefs).
Also present were association’s president Charli Ata and Sri Aman District Council (MDSA) chairman Anthony Abell Chendan.
