KUCHING: The Satok assemblyman Ibrahim Baki has pledged his support to the Lim siblings, who were affected by fire today (April 2) at their home located at 187B, Lorong Satok 17.
Ibrahim, who visited the victims today, stressed his dedication to providing aid within his constituency whenever disasters strike.
“We personally delivered food and financial assistance to the Lim family today through my own efforts. We will plan future support to help them rebuild their home.
“They are currently dealing with their insurance claims, and we are ready to offer additional support if needed. We can utilise the Program Penambahbaikan Rumah Rakyat Miskin Sarawak (PPRMS), which aids underprivileged communities, to allocate funds for their recovery,” he said.
The siblings, Lim Khiun Lian and Lim Chiang Lian, recounted the terrifying moment of the incident. They were feeding their cats downstairs when an electrical explosion upstairs precipitated a blaze. Upon opening the door to the source, they faced flames and extreme heat, causing burns to their faces and feet. Despite their injuries, they managed to escape the fire.
