KUCHING: Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi) announced that they will contest for five seats in Sibu region; namely Bukit Assek, Pelawan, Nangka, Dudong and Bawang Assan.

In addition, the party also revealed that they will also put up its candidates in Sarikei region as well, namely Repok and Meradong.

Secretary-general of Aspirasi, Simon Tiong said this came after the party had made its ground assessment and also based on some potential candidates aspiring to represent the party in the central region.

“The names of our potential candidates will be revealed soon,” Tiong said in a statement today.

Tiong also admitted that some voters are tired with many disillusioned over the lack of integrity in the political parties that they had supported in the past — with the political musical chairs and frogging games going on since the last general election (GE14).

“Voters are looking for untainted parties and clean politicians who will be committed to fight for Sarawak rights rather than personal interests.

“There is a political vacuum today for a clean third force to fulfil the aspiration of Sarawakian voters for a bright future for Sarawak,” he continued.
