KUCHING: Asnol Khairulzakry Ainie, vice president 1 of AZAM Young Souls (AYS) 2024–2026, recently came third in the Malay Speech category at the Toastmasters International District-Level Competition 2025.

His success marked a proud moment for AZAM Sarawak and highlighted the growing influence of AYS as a platform for developing articulate, competitive and visionary youth leaders in Sarawak.

“The competition was not merely a stage for contesting.

“It was a space for learning, for building confidence and I am grateful for the opportunity to represent AYS and amplify the voices of Sarawakian youth on a larger platform,” Asnol said.

Building on this momentum, AZAM Sarawak will be sending six AYS representatives from Kuching to participate in the Toastmasters International Conference in Bandung, Indonesia this May.

The initiative is part of AZAM’s effort to provide international exposure to local youth and strengthen global networks in leadership and communication.

According to AZAM Sarawak’s Strategic Communication, Media and Youth Relations Section Manager, Mohd Hassanal Hakim Junaidi, Asnol’s achievement is a direct result of his dedication and the effectiveness of the AYS platform in unlocking youth potential.

“With the upcoming participation in Bandung, we hope to broaden the horizons of our young leaders and deepen their sense of purpose through global engagement,” he said.

Through AYS, which carries the slogan “Grow the Youth, Grow Sarawak,” AZAM Sarawak remains committed to empowering young people as agents of change by promoting participatory communication, leadership development, and impactful networking.

Asnol’s journey stands as an inspiration to fellow youth—proving that with the right guidance and platform, young voices can shape a more progressive and inclusive future for Sarawak.
