KUCHING: Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, welcomed five representatives from ASEZ during a courtesy visit to his office.
‘Save the Earth From A to Z’ (ASEZ) is an international volunteer organisation comprising university students from over 7,500 Churches of God in 175 countries. It aims to spread compassion and support to communities facing disasters, hardships, and challenges.
ASEZ contributes to global environmental protection and human welfare through initiatives such as crime prevention for safer communities, climate change response for a sustainable future, community service to foster inclusivity, and disaster relief to promote resilience and recovery.
One of ASEZ’s major global campaigns, ‘Zero Plastic 2040’, aligns with the international goal of eliminating plastic pollution by 2040.
Led by university student volunteers, ASEZ focuses on implementing sustainable solutions to the plastic crisis, targeting campuses and communities worldwide.
The initiative aspires to create a plastic-free world and foster a healthier, more sustainable future by combining individual efforts with global partnerships.
Its objectives include hosting campaigns and forums to raise public awareness, encouraging recycling, reusing, repurposing, and diversifying plastic usage, organising local community projects to combat plastic pollution directly, and advocating for effective international agreements.
Through these efforts, ASEZ remains at the forefront of tackling plastic pollution and fostering a sustainable future for future generations.
