Art of Speed returns in 2023 after a record-breaking crowd response in 2022, and it appears like it will be bigger and better than ever. The event is taking over every event hall at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang, and there are many activities set up.

Gear up!

This year, Malaysia’s premier Kustom & Counter Culture event, Art of Speed (AOS 2023), will invade Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), which boasts a 350,000 square feet indoor space and 8.6 acres of outdoor space.

The event will be held tomorrow (July 29) and Sunday (July 30) from 10am to 7pm.

Among those on the guest list include Shige Suganuma, Emi Suganuma, “Sunny” Yano & Hiro “Wildman” Ishii from MOONEYES, Japan; Wild Road Choppers, Japan (1941 Harley-Davidson Chopper Show Bike); Cosmic Chopper City, Japan (2020 Harley-Davidson Chopper Show Bike); Dino Dalle Carbonare from Speedhunters.com; Alexander Iain from Speedhunters.com; Side Yakotani, Japan (1959 Volkswagen Type2 Safari Custom Show Car); and Ya Seat, Thailand.

One of the highlights of AOS 2023 is “The Outdoor ThunderCircus “Brotherhood Rally” — a fully dedicated open area for motorcycle riders and enthusiasts that will attract a gathering of various motorcycle makes and brand communities.

ThunderCircus will feature a mega ride-in and motorcycle groups from across Malaysia and around the region.

The first official Hot Wheels Collector Convention in Southeast Asia will take over Hall B.

Visitors will be able to enjoy even more Hot Wheels activities and diorama displays, such as the Hot Wheels Rare and Collectibles Exhibition, Hot Wheels Skate School, Hot Wheels Swap Buy and Sell, Collector sharing sessions, Hot Wheels Custom Competition, and many more.

Hot Wheels fans will also have the opportunity to meet and greet legendary Hot Wheels designer Matt Gabe from the United States.

A limited edition Hot Wheels Official Convention Car will be released, along with a limited edition t-shirt, both licenced by Hot Wheels exclusively for the convention.

To mark Hot Wheels’ 40th anniversary in Malaysia, Mattel is collaborating with the country’s iconic national automotive brand, Proton, to create the first Hot Wheels — Proton Saga vehicle.

In conjunction with this historic occasion, Mattel has organised the Hot Wheels x PROTON Kids Design Competition.

The winning design will be announced in Hall A, and a sneak peek of the collaboration will be featured during the convention, with Matt Gabe sharing his experience.

Hot Wheels Legends Tour Malaysia “LIVE” makes its debut at AOS 2023. This year, the Official Malaysia competition will take place on Sunday at 9am, with both local and international judges deciding who would represent Malaysia on the world stage.

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour is currently open for free registration at www.artofspeedmy.com, and there is no deadline.

The AOS collaboration with VANS will feature limited edition shoes and a special AOS 10-year commemorative hard cover coffee table book for collectors.

VANS will set up a mini skateboard and BMX park at Hall DG next to Food Park.

Other collaborations include Hikari Riders with limited edition merchandise; IGL Coating with limited edition coating, especially made for bikers and motorcycles; and MOONEYES with limited edition event exclusive t-shirt and MOONEYES Malaysia dealer t-shirt.

The “Inaugural Miss Art of Speed 2023” is something new.

AOS Malaysia first introduced Pin-Up Stars in 2015, with three pin-up icons from the region — ChicaRockabilly from Singapore, Cassidy Anderson from Australia, and Claudia Adinda from Indonesia.

The Miss Art of Speed pageant strives to inspire women of all shapes and sizes to be bold, to push themselves outside of their comfort zones, and to express their inner and outer beauty through the art of pin-up.

The top 10 finalists will battle for the title of Miss Pin-Up Art of Speed 2023 on Saturday inside Hall A.

The finalists will walk the runway, show off their daywear, and take part in a Q&A session before the winners are announced.

The highly popular SoundCircus Festival, powered by Harley-Davidson and BRO ASIA, will also return for AOS 2023.

A scene from the previous year’s event

We just learned that all of the concert tickets for Saturday have been sold, but you can check it out for yourself. With so many new activities, it appears that you will need to stay for the entire two days.

The media will get a sneak peek today. Guess who was invited? Yours truly!
