TEBEDU: The Dayak Bidayuh National Association’s (DBNA) method for documenting Native Customary Rights (NCR) land will be used to survey 714 agricultural lots in Kampung Taee starting May 6.

Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada said the NCR land survey work will involve two phases, covering a total area of 162,000 hectares in the first phase and 513,038 hectares in the second phase.

“The NCR land documentation project initiated by DBNA aims to expedite the process of demarcating residential and agricultural lots.

“With the initiative, we also hope to resolve any boundary conflicts and land ownership rights among family members and even with neighbours,” he said.

He made these remarks during a dialogue session on the survey of individual agricultural lots held here recently.

He added that the measured lots would be registered under Section 18 of the Sarawak Land Code.

Dr Simon also suggested that the DBNA conduct briefings for the community on the importance of NCR land documentation to ensure the security of land rights and prevent future disputes.

Also present were DBNA vice president Dr Chali Ungang and Bung Sadong chairman Nicholas Amin, JTS Serian Division assistant land administrator Attin Rimpa, and Bidayuh Pemanca Jacques Kantuh.
