KUCHING: Hope Place has reached out to yet another family in need.

It stepped forward with basic food supplies after Linawatie Saeet, a 42-year-old mother of five, sought assistance for her children aged between 11 months and 10 years.

Her youngest child, Noah, had surgery a few months ago and is awaiting another procedure.

“Noah, who is 11 months old, was born with a cleft lip. He underwent surgery when he was four months old but requires another operation soon,” the NGO said.

As an active baby, Noah often scratches his mouth, risking bleeding.

“To prevent this, doctors have inserted tubes around Noah’s arms to stop him from hurting himself,”it said in a statement on Monday.

“In addition, Noah has mild eczema covering his entire body, while his sister, Fatimah, aged three, has suffered from severe eczema since she was a year old,”it said, adding that the family lives in a rented house at Kampung Gersik, Petra Jaya.

Noah’s father, Redhuan, 54, works as a gardener at a school, earning a minimum wage so the family struggles to cover expenses like rent, medication, and schooling needs for three children.

Noah receives RM200 in monthly welfare aid and Hope Place is now supporting the family with basic food aid and milk powder for Noah.
