KUCHING: The annual Otakyun! 2024 will be held from Oct 26 to 27 at the Grand Riverine Ballroom here, featuring a range of programmes celebrating anime, cosplay, and Japanese pop culture.

Attendees of Otakyun! 2024 can enjoy a Cosplay gathering, participate in competitions like the Sweet Cos-Parade for cash prizes, and explore the Anime Booth Market featuring merchandise, art, and collectibles from over 70 vendors, artists, and cosplayers.

For fans eager to meet their idols, invited Guest Artists and Cosplayers include Raeyxia from Sarawak, Ernest Ng from Malaysia, Rithe and DJ Haru Haruka from Singapore, providing the perfect opportunity for autographs and engagements. 

Otakyun! 2024 will feature captivating stage performances by local and international talents, including DJ Haru Haruka’s live DJ concert on Oct 27 at 7pm. Music and dance enthusiasts can also enjoy the Idol Competition, where participants compete for recognition.

Art enthusiasts can join the Doodle Art and Digital Theme Art competitions to showcase their creativity. The event will also feature a Maid Cafe, where guests can enjoy treats in a charming, themed setting served by friendly maids.

The event will also feature an Amazing Model Show with a Gunpla Model Competition offering attractive prizes, along with an Itasha Showcase, displaying cars adorned with anime, manga, or video game characters for attendees to admire.

Players can compete in a Trading Card Game Tournament, with a free learning session for beginners. Additionally, the Borneo Tekken Tournament will offer intense and exciting gameplay for participants.

Preorder 2-day tickets for Otakyun! 2024 are available for RM60 until Oct 20. On event days, tickets will cost RM40 per day, with special rates of RM20 for OKU, senior citizens, and children under 12, while children under 5 can enter for free.
