SIBU: Anas Dzulkefflee, 22, of Kedah emerged champion of the Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia after defeating 10 other finalists at the Bachelor of Malaysia Contest held at Kingwood Hotel here last Saturday night.

Nigeluan Daniel and Kiaw Ching both of Sabah won first and second runners-up, respectively.

The Bachelor of Malaysia Contest held for the first time here was aimed at finding a male model to represent Malaysia at the Mr Universal Ambassador Contest to be held at Dallas, Texas, USA in August.

Anas, who represented Kuala Lumpur at the contest, hoped that he would be able set foot in Dallas and bring honour to Malaysia.

The winner of Mister National Malaysia, Nigeluan Daniel, 22, who is a student of UiTM, Kota Samarahan wanted the youth not to give up on their dreams.
For Kiaw Ching, 23, although he won second runner-up, it would not discourage him to keep trying again in the future.

On behalf of the contest organisers, Haikal Ezrie said that Sibu was chosen as the venue for the competition as a show of support to ‘Visit Sibu Year 2017’.

He also wanted young people to make the contest as a platform to showcase their talents and interests in the modelling world.

Chairman of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Branch Robert Lau Hui Yew who is also deputy chairman of Sibu Rural District Council who also spoke wanted the younger generation to take the opportunity to do something positive and bring pride and honour to the country.

Mr National Thailand 2016, Arthit Mekarkard, Mr Universal Ambassador Malaysia 2016, Jason Ganesan, Miss International Malaysia 2016, Olivia Nicholas and a finalist of Miss Asia 2016, Cheryl Joanne Chan Fan Nyuk were among those present.
