KUCHING: The Synthesis Sarawak Magazine serves as a beacon of inspiration, urging the next generation to fearlessly pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said STEM fields will secure the future of the next generation and spearhead the growth of Sarawak.

“The scientific advances featured in the magazine from biotechnology to clean energy underscore the remarkable talent propelling our state forward.

“We, at the Ministry, have a responsibility to cultivate a deeply rooted culture of scientific inquiry that permeates all corners of Sarawak.

“This calls for a concerted effort from across the state government, industry, academia and the community at large,” he said.

He said this in his speech during the launching ceremony of the magazine at Hilton hotel here today.

Sagah added that Synthesis can serve as a roadmap, guiding the future young scientists on a path of discovery where they are at the forefront of tackling global challenges such as climate change, food security, and sustainable development.

He then stated that the magazine will be published at all education institutions (primary and secondary school, various universities and colleges) in Sarawak.

For the record, the magazine will feature articles on groundbreaking research conducted in the state, written in a style approachable by non-specialists.

It covers diverse fields such as biotechnology, clean energy and advanced materials.

Also present during the ceremony were Deputy Ministers Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee and Datuk Francis Harden Hollis alongside other distinguished guests.
