Such was the case with Datuk John Lau Pang Heng after he was issued a compound for violating the standard operating procedures (SOPs) under the movement control order (MCO).

Padawan district police chief Superintendent Aidil Bolhassan, who confirmed the case, said the Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) Kota Sentosa representative was fined RM1,500 for having a bowl of Kolo Mee at the five-foot way of a shop near Kota Sentosa.

“The subject (Lau) agreed to receive the compound of RM1,500 with a grace period of 14 days until July 14,” he said in a statement today (Wednesday).

Aidil said the restaurant owner was also issued a compound of RM1,500 for serving dine-in customers during the MCO period.

Investigation into the case was carried out after a photo of the politician surfaced on Facebook showing Lau eating a bowl of Kolo Mee at in front of the eatery.
