KUCHING: The Ambassador of Mexico to Malaysia, His Excellency Luis Javier Campuzano Piña, visited the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) today.

The meeting, hosted byDatuk Jonathan Chai Voon Tok Secretary-General Datuk Jonathan Chai Voon Tok, focused on exploring bilateral opportunities between Mexico and Sarawak in various sectors.

“The discussion covered a range of topics, including Sarawak’s Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030, renewable energy (hydropower, solar energy), oil and gas, technology industries (semiconductors, electronics, aerospace), plantations, education, and Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART).

“Both parties expressed a shared commitment to fostering collaboration in these fields,” the press release stated.

Ambassador Campuzano highlighted the dynamic trade relationship between Mexico and Malaysia, emphasising Malaysia’s position as Mexico’s ninth largest trading partner.

He noted that, despite the geographical distance, bilateral trade is thriving, presenting numerous opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs from both nations.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties agreeing to maintain close communication and explore further cooperation opportunities.

One of the key outcomes of the discussion was the proposal to organise an online business matching session aimed at connecting entrepreneurs from both countries to develop mutually beneficial ventures.
