Almost RM1.6mil allocated for agricultural roads, infrastructure

SERIAN: The Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) has allocated RM1.592 million for the development of agricultural roads in Kampung Merian Bedup and Kampung Tebakang Melayu here.

Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus said three agricultural road projects have been handed over, including two projects in Merian Bedup, namely the upgrading of the Sungai Matuh and Sungai Sagu Agricultural Roads, as well as another new project in the Sungai Busit Tapang area.

Additionally, he mentioned that a new project will be carried out in Manchu Enturah, Kampung Tebakang Melayu.

He said that the street lighting installation project from Simpang Bedup to Kampung Sungai Buloh Bedup, as well as from Simpang Riih Daso/Mawang to Labak Tungan, is currently underway with a total cost of RM1.4 million.

“Many more projects under GKCDA will be implemented this year to improve infrastructure and the well-being of the residents,” he said during the project site handover session held here today.

According to John, all of these projects are expected to be completed within six months, with implementation by three different contractors.

Meanwhile, John advised village heads and members of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) to collaborate with the Irrigation and Drainage Department, the implementing agency, and the contractors to ensure that the projects run smoothly and in accordance with the specified standards.
