KUCHING: The Swinburne Indoor Open 2025 is poised to set Kuching abuzz as it welcomes elite Ultimate Frisbee teams from Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei for a two-day indoor spectacle this weekend, 12–13 April.

Held at Swinburne University of Technology of Sarawak, the tournament promises a display of high-calibre athleticism, with eight accomplished teams contending for top honours.

Entry is free and spectators can expect not only riveting matches but also live performances and a vibrant sporting atmosphere.

Tournament advisor Adriel Wong expressed confidence in the event’s elevated calibre this year.

“The recognition of international and out-of-state teams has really grown, thanks to social media. The overall intensity this year will definitely be higher than ever.

 “With all eight squads comprising experienced players, the competition will be fierce and the outcome anything but predictable,” he told Sarawak Tribune recently.

Wong also noted the vital role of sponsors and collaborators in elevating the tournament’s scale and execution, underscoring the significance of community and corporate backing.

Fans unable to attend in person need not miss out — live coverage will be streamed via the @ultiasia YouTube channel, with real-time scores available at ultiscore.com.

Teams are expected to arrive by Friday as the city braces itself for an influx of frisbee fervour.

Whether a seasoned fan or a curious newcomer, all are invited to witness the energy, camaraderie and sporting excellence set to unfold in Kuching this weekend.
