SARATOK: Villagers’ swift response prevented the spread of a house fire at Lot Wawasan, Kampung Melangor here, yesterday (Apr 18).

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a call about the incident at 7.05 pm and promptly dispatched a team from the Saratok station.

“Upon arrival, it was discovered that the fire originated from a bedroom, damaging around 20 percent of the room’s structure.

“The flames also affected electrical appliances and furniture. Quick response from villagers, using five units of dry chemical powder fire extinguishers, effectively put out the fire,” Bomba said.
