BINTULU: The celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri is not merely a time to rejoice after a month of fasting, but also carries a profound message of unity, reflection, and forgiveness in community life.
Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee emphasised that these noble values should be practised at all times, especially in fostering closer ties among local residents.
“As a human being, I am not without flaws. I sincerely seek forgiveness for any shortcomings and mistakes throughout my time entrusted with this responsibility.
“I am far from a perfect leader, and I truly appreciate all the guidance, support, and advice from everyone,” he said during the Riang Ria Raya gathering hosted by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) N.67 Jepak, together with community and grassroots leaders, at a local restaurant on Sunday night.
Iskandar, who also serves as Chief of the PBB Jepak Branch, said the event was held as a gesture of appreciation to the extended PBB Jepak family — community leaders, Village Development and Security Committee members, government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and friends from other PBB branches in this area.
“You are all the heart of our strength. Thank you for your trust, hard work, and unwavering spirit in supporting our shared cause,” he expressed.
He also extended heartfelt appreciation to all the wings within PBB N.67 Jepak, describing them as the backbone of grassroots unity.
“The Bapa Wing brings experience and wisdom; the Women’s Wing, resilience and extraordinary spirit; and the Youth and Young Adults Wings continue to shine with enthusiasm and fresh ideas.
“We are like one body, each playing a vital role.
“Just as water is shaped by its container, consensus shapes our words. United we stand, divided we fall,” he added.
The Riang Ria Raya event aimed to strengthen the bond between leaders and the local community following the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, and to recognise the contributions of community leaders in promoting harmony in the Jepak area.
