KUCHING: Local entrepreneurs can now make use of AgroXpress, the first delivery platform for agro-food and agricultural products, under the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) Sarawak.
Launching the project yesterday was state Fama director Datuk Dr Mat Sani Hasan.
The delivery platform involves the integration of distribution hubs, Agrobazaar Online platform and online farmers market to improve marketing integration throughout the supply chain.
This platform is a pilot project under Fama Sarawak, which will be handled by ABO Trading. Entrepreneurs especially from rural areas, can send their products to ABO Trading in Kuching and the products will be marketed through agrobazaaronline.com.
Project manager Zamahari Hanapi explained when consumers purchase the products online, they will then be delivered through the delivery platform, AgroXpress.
He pointed out that strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) were in place for the deliveries.
He explained that their deliverers would not be allowed to enter the customer’s house and could only place the products on a table outside the house, set up by the customer.
“It will be a ‘no hand deliver’ concept of delivery,” he said.
It is envisaged that farmers, agro-based industry entrepreneurs, university students, youth, fresh graduates and the local community can use the platform to help increase their income and reduce the unemployment rate in Malaysia by maximising the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Economic Gig.
