SIBURAN: Residents around Kampung Batu Gong Baru and Kampung Batu Gong Lama will see rapid infrastructure growth in their areas through the construction of gravel road, a new bridge and land acquisition.

This is because the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) has earmarked RM4 million to construct a primary road to facilitate access to the paddy cultivation in those areas as it aims to improve infrastructure in the agricultural zones.

Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil recently conducted a visit to the proposed site project while gathering feedback from local residents.

Originally, the project stemmed from the need for a new agricultural road in Kampung Batu Gong Lama, costing RM2 million.

However, due to agricultural infrastructure requirements for both villages, GKCDA has approved both projects for the affected areas.

To ensure transparency and community engagement, village chiefs and community leaders will hold a meeting to explain the project details to the residents.
