KUCHING: A total of 252 families can now proudly call themselves homeowners, thanks to the Vision Hills Sri Pertiwi Housing Project in Matang, which offers high-quality homes at budget-friendly prices — making it an ideal choice for first-time buyers.
For Zainoor Afika Sharkawi, 30, and her husband Zulkarnain Hamzah, 31, owning this house is a major milestone for their family.
“This is our first home. Alhamdulillah, we qualified for the RM10,000 deposit assistance from the government to purchase this house.
“The houses built here are of excellent quality, and we are satisfied because the price is reasonable,” she said.

Zainoor, who works at the Sarawak State Fishermen’s Association, also shared that the application process was straightforward, and they are now ready to move in.
“The housing agent was very helpful, guiding us through the government assistance application process for first-time homebuyers.
“We plan to move in early May, coinciding with the arrival of our second child,” she added.

Ivy Diana, 31, another recipient in this housing area, said she never expected the process of purchasing her first home to be so smooth and easy.
“The application process was simplified with the help of agents and lawyers, as well as the Mutiara Mortgage & Credit Sdn Bhd financing scheme.
“My husband and I started looking for a house last December, and within just three months, we have already received our keys,” she said.
Working at a factory in Samajaya, she also mentioned that the RM10,000 deposit assistance from the government significantly eased her financial burden in acquiring her first home.
“This location is on the outskirts of the city, where the temperature is slightly cooler compared to urban areas.
“My new house is also close to my parents’ home, which makes buying a house here very worthwhile.
“However, I almost missed the opportunity to own this home, as all the units were booked. I was lucky because a buyer cancelled their reservation,” she explained, adding that she plans to move in next year.
