MUKAH: The Dalat and Mukah District Council (MDDM), in collaboration with three village committees here, will organise a Local Agenda (LA) 21 and social service programme at the multipurpose hall of Kampung Seri Tellian on Sept 20 and 21.
The Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) involved are from Kampung Tellian Permai, Kampung Seri Tellian and Kampung Tellian Daya.
It is aimed at raising awareness about cleanliness in and around the houses of the villagers.
On Sept 20, the programme will commence with a work party (gotong-royong) involving residents of the three villages to clean their own areas and compounds from 8.30am to 5pm.
The villagers are advised to gather rubbish, including solid waste, at the roadside to enable MDDM lorries to collect and dispose of them.
In the evening, starting from 8pm, a stage performance will be held, including a karaoke competition, at the multipurpose hall. There will also be a lucky draw.
On Sept 21, from 8.30am to 5pm at the same venue, there will be an exhibition, health screening, talk and demonstration by 14 government agencies, including the police, health department and agriculture department.
Those who attend the one-day programme will also have a chance to win prizes in a lucky draw.
