KUCHING: Sarawak’s political stability and the people’s support towards Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has led to remarkable achievements for the state government throughout 2023.
In pointing this out, Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said Sarawak’s stability allowed the government to focus on robust financial management, resulting in record-breaking revenue generation that surpassed previous years.
“We were able to reach a high revenue which Sarawak has never seen before.
“With this revenue, we will be able to continue our development plans to a greater level,” he said.
He said this during the New Year countdown event at Waterfront Kuching here today (Dec 31).
Sharing his hopes for the coming year, Abdul Karim expressed his desire for the state’s finances to continue flourishing.
“This will only be possible with the continuous support from the rakyat.
“Therefore, I hope that the rakyat will continue their support to the state government so that we are able to continue our developments as planned,” he said, extending New Year wishes to Sarawakians.
