KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has conveyed his appreciation to friends and members of the public who congratulated him on his birthday.
The Chief Minister’s Office, in a statement today (Aug 3), said he appreciated their kind and thoughtful gesture but urged them not to put up advertisements but instead contribute to the Covid-19 State Disaster Trust Fund.
Tomorrow (Aug 4) marks the 71st birthday of the chief minister.
Abang Johari was born on Aug 4, 1950 in Limbang, Sarawak and he is the son of the state’s first Governor, Tun Abang Openg Abang Sapiee.
Abang Johari was sworn in as the sixth chief minister in 2017. He is also the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) president.
