BINTULU: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has assured that the entire Pan Borneo Highway in Sarawak will be toll-free.

“When the late Pehin Sri Adenan Satem officiated the start of the Pan Borneo Highway, I remembered he wanted it to be toll-free,”

“Therefore, as his successor, I will ensure his aspiration would be upheld,” he said at the official opening of the Sarawak Pan Borneo Highway – Nyabau Section (Work Package Contract 10) here today.

Abang Johari said he has not forgotten the wishes and good services delivered by the late Adenan, who was the former chief minister.

“He was the one who started this big project and was supported by the then Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. This highway project was indeed a great service from our leaders,” he said.

Abang Johari also expressed his gratitude to the people of Bintulu who had given a strong mandate to Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the 12th Sarawak state election.
