KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate the Energy Industries Council (EIC) CONNECT Energy Borneo 2025 on Feb 25 and 26, at Hikmah Exchange here.

This prestigious event, organised by the EIC, aims to provide an exclusive platform for industry leaders, innovators and decision-makers to collaborate and expand business opportunities in Borneo’s dynamic energy market.

EIC Asia Pacific regional director Azman Nasir said Kuching was chosen as the location for EIC’s annual event for the first time, following previous editions held in Kuala Lumpur.

He stated that the event will focus on key areas including Sarawak, Sabah, Brunei and Kalimantan.

“This is the first time we are hosting the annual event in Kuching. Previously, it was held in Kuala Lumpur, and we feel this year is the right time to hold it in Kuching.

“This will be the largest event, and we anticipate around 1,000 participants,” he said during the EIC APAC annual breakfast here on Tuesday (Jan 14).

BMCC expressed its excitement to support the event, which is expected to act as a catalyst for the growth of the energy sector in the region.

The event is expected to attract over 1,000 participants from various countries and sectors, making it a key platform to forge strategic partnerships and capitalise on opportunities in Borneo’s rapidly growing energy industry.
