KUCHING: The breaking of fast ceremony organised by the Army’s Easter Field Command Headquarters has brought together army personnel, state leaders, and the local community in a spirit of unity in the month of Ramadan.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg graced the occasion which took place at the Solahuddin Al-Ayubbi Mosque, Penrissen Camp yesterday (Mar 16).

He arrived at 6.15 pm and was warmly welcomed by the First Division Commander Major General Datuk Khairul Anuar Abdul Aziz, along with senior officers.

As part of the event, Abang Johari also presented hampers and cash donations to five recipients, comprising army personnel and children battling chronic illnesses.

The evening continued with the Premier’s visit to the Gedong Tactical Headquarters replica.

Meanwhile, as the call to Maghrib prayer, guests broke their fast with light refreshments before performing the Maghrib prayers and proceeding with the main meal.

Abang Johari later joined the congregational Isyak and Tarawih prayers before ending the evening with moreh (supper).
